"Ecotourism" is defined as tourism with an awareness and responsibility towards natural resources. With unique characteristic of their locality, cultural resources that are linked with ecological system and tourism that allows for mutual exchange of knowledge under the joint management with the local people in order to create awareness and to work towards a sustainable environment.

Ecotourism or conservation tourism can be sustainable only when various agencies relating to tourism are involved. Agencies such as government, private sector, local people and tourists all must join hands in brain-storming, creating work shops and coordinating to move ecotourism in the right direction and to create unity.
